My name is Abigail Rieley. I’m a Dublin based author and this blog is an experiment. I’ve written two books about real life crimes that I’ve covered as a journalist but this is where I’m going to try something different.

I’ve been writing stories for as long as I can remember. I’ve written a novel that evolved out of an idea I had when I was 11 which was long before I’d heard of deadlines. When I first thought about a career in journalism it was because I wanted to get paid to write. The stories I used to make up, and the story that finally became my novel, were very different from the ones I tell in my two published books and my main blog over at abigailrieley.com.

What I’m hoping to do here is to tell those stories. I’m purposely posting them on this blog rather than seeking any other form of publication because they are something new. The short story is a form I admire but it’s not my natural habitat so be patient, I’m learning. I’m hoping to have a new story here at least once a month. Please feel free to tell me what you think.
